Factory alarm for now. Had the Viper 5901 in my Sonoma, but I forgot to pull it out. So my fault, but I loved it the remote start was great when I lived in Ohio.

I have a CompuStar RF-P2W9000-SS with an iDatalink BLADE-AL(DL)-GM4 Bypass.

It's been a real headache bypassing the Passlock system. Mine's been back to the installer's at least 7 times since I had it installed in November. The passlock on our trucks is unique in the GM lineup.

The Colorado's BCM internal power fluctuation, which occurs in many different circumstances, negatively affects external passlock bypass reliability. When these fluctuations occur the risk the vehicle going in tamper mode during remote start are high. The bypass module provides you a highly precise (±0.002v) passlock value, however the module will not fluctuate when the BCM does which can result on the BCM and module not being on the same comparison scale. If such situation occur the vehicle will probably go in tamper mode.

The IPC reference wire must be used as the sole Passlock reference in these vehicles to avoid Tamper Mode.

I ended up using a series of relays and resistors on mine. (the Module will still takes care of the PK3 immobilizer, OEM alarm and doorlocks).

Good luck with the install.

Yeah I did the tech doc that is honestly the best way to go on these trucks. I dont like the bypass modules they just have to many problems. I didnt even use one for the door looks or trigers. The oem alarm is only activated by the remote so you dont have to worry about the system arming itself. Then install only took about 4 hrs with window mods and all. The GM passlock systems have a 5% tolerance so you dont have to be right on with the resistor value, which is sooo nice. Hope all is well with your install rshadd.
