Got the parts I needed to finish the install.

Bracket and stud installed.

Fits pretty well without any modifications.

There's not a whole lot of hood clearance. The hood closes fine, but there's bound to be some rubbing.

Very nice. Only time will tell on the amount of rubbing and its effect on the liner and/or cover.

ive always thought about taking out the hood liner to hear the engine a ili more....

maybe the cover wouldnt have issues if there was no liner?

can you check the clearance between the cover and liner at the silver stripes? cause it looks like the highest point

I would worry about the heat and the paint on the hood, without the liner? Then again, the liner wasn't always included. But then maybe the V8 puts out a bit more heat than the other engine options?

im sure it does but i doubt it would be enough to bake the paint.

the liner dosnt cover the entirety of the hood.

that and the paint would be all fucked around the edges of the hood where the heat escapes.

i think the liner is more for sound control...

or shit, just cut a small hole in the liner....just enough for clearance....

LSx motors run very cool for V8's. I have a supercharged stroker Mustang with no hood liner and the paint still looks brand new after 6 years of extreme heat under there. I would wager that engine produces 100% or more heat than my mild 5.3L...

I wouldn't hesitate to remove the liner, and will be taking mine off because I can't properly keep it clean.

That engine cover looks superb under there!!

What do you need for parts to mount it? I need to have that!!
